Principal's Message

Eric Boone began his career in education as a third and fourth grade math teacher. Prior to joining the Wayne County School District in July 2024, he served as a teacher, bus driver, coach, assistant principal, and principal. He is currently principal at Wayne Central School.

He received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, and a master’s degree in teaching from Alcorn State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and a specialist degree in instructional leadership from William Carey University.

“Education is a tool that can be used to transform the lives of people, which can ultimately be used to shape the nation. Each day, I do my best to encourage students and teachers to do the best they can do, because we are preparing children today to become leaders of tomorrow. I love when students are working on a task and they have an “aha” moment. This gives me joy to know that the student has grasped the concept and they are growing in their learning.”
