Principal's Message

Wayne Central Lion Family

My name is Carrie Turbyfill.  I am a native of Wayne County.  I went to school at Clara School and graduated from Wayne County High School.  I attended MCC and MSU Meridian where I obtained my BS in education.  I attended USM where I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership.  I taught at Clara and then entered into administration as assistant principal.  I held that position along with a few district level positions throughout the years.  For the past five years, I was the district testing coordinator and EL coordinator.  God saw fit to place me at Wayne Central.  I consider a blessing to be to be a part of the Wayne Central Lion’s family.  It is hard to believe that I have been at Wayne Central for 9 weeks now.  The teachers, staff, parents and students have been so supportive which has made the transition smooth. 

I have been married to my husband, Eric, for 24 years.  We have a son, Elliot, who is a senior this year at Wayne County High School.  He keeps us very busy with baseball.  We live in Wayne County and enjoy attending all of the Wayne Central events.

I am enjoying this journey and I can’t wait to see where the students go with the support of you and the teachers.  I am excited to move forward with your child in making them a successful and productive student in Wayne County.
